The Game & Network Services segment is a key component in Sony’s portfolio, of course, and it’s the one we care about most. According to the note, Sony doesn’t expect any games in active development to be delayed. Because the company doesn’t foresee any production delays, it’s confident that the Game & Network Services won’t suffer in the current fiscal yea as a result of coronavirus. That is despite the company’s decision to throttle PlayStation Network download speeds in both Europe and the US. That said, Sony is actively monitoring the situation with regards to production schedules for first-party, as well as third-party games. “Although no issues have emerged so far, Sony is carefully monitoring the risk of delays in production schedules for game software titles at both its first-party studios and partner studios, primarily in Europe and the U.S,” the note reads. The update makes no mention of PS5, or whether the crisis will affect its manufacturing schedule in any way.
