The League of Legends developer has revealed its next project is Tellstones: King’s Gambit, an upcoming tabletop game set in the League of Legends universe. Described as a bluffing game for two-to-four players, Tellstones will be a game with “perfect information” - meaning each player will be able to see all the information about what’s happening up front. The game is said to be a “Demacian varient of a game played across Runeterra” - the world of League of Legends - and one of the many tabletop games currently in development from Riot. “Our first tabletop game was a huge, cooperative game loaded with miniatures and narrative content,” reads the studio’s reveal post. Riot Games’ first tabletop game Mech vs. Minions released three years ago. “Our second game is competitive, much smaller, and plays faster. They’re worlds apart, but united by the focus on player experience outlined above.” This is just one of the many games revealed by the studio this year, following the unveiling of Wild Rift - the new console and mobile iteration of League of Legends, as well as a new digital card game Legends of Runeterra. Riot Games previously announced Teamfight Tactics, the company’s entry into the autobattler genre, as well as an upcoming single-player title called Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.
