Forza Horizon 5 barn finds explained
Forza Horizon 5 barn finds are secret locations in the Mexico map that house hidden cars. These have been in previous Forza Horizon games and they are back in Playground Games’ latest open-world racing game. You don’t need to find these cars hidden in barns, but if you do hunt down these completely optional challenges you get some great cars for no cost. When you start playing Forza Horizon 5 you won’t be able to interact with any of the barns highlighted on the map below. In order to actually “find” them, you’ll first need to progress the game’s story until you start hearing rumours about secret barns from one of the festival organisers. Once you hear a rumour about a barn being seen in the world, you’ll be able to see a vague location on your map with a house icon and a question mark in a purple circle. You can then use the map below to pinpoint the exact barn find locations and head straight there.

How to unlock the final barn finds in Forza Horizon 5 - Why is a barn missing on the treasure map?
Even if you pay to buy the Treasure Map in Forza Horizon 5, some barn finds won’t be marked on the map, and if you drive over to them you won’t be able to interact with it. Thankfully these tasks are very simple. Barn Find 3, to get the GMC Jimmy, requires you to take on the Apex Expedition. Once you’ve reached the ruins you need to climb to the top of the central ruin (which is exactly what it sounds like) and then you’ll unlock the barn so you can interact with it and get the car. Barn Find 11 requires you to play the Baja Expedition. Once you’re in the dormant volcano you simply need to drive through the small pool of water, which then unlocks the barn and lets you claim the Ford Racing Escort. The 14th barn find gives you the Jaguar Sport XJR-15 and it can be found in the south west of the map, just outside the airfield. In order to actually gain access to this barn you first need to tackle the Wilds Expedition. Once you reach the jungle airport you will have some optional accolades to tackle, one of which (Discover the Lost Barn Find notes) will unlock the location of the final barn. There is a chest in an aircraft hanger that is pretty easy to find.
How to access the cars you find in barns in Forza Horizon 5
After the euphoric high of finding a barn and seeing what car is inside, you’ll be hit with a bit of a blow: the car can’t be used yet. After the sequence showing the rundown vehicle ends, you’ll be told that the car is being worked on. This makes sense as the cars are in quite a state when you find them. After a certain amount of time you’ll get a message telling you that the car is ready to use. Head to one of the unlocked homes on your map and you’ll see a barn finds option, which shows you all the cars you’ve unlocked this way. If you don’t want to wait for your barn find car to be fixed up, there is an option to expedite it by paying an amount of in-game credits. This amount varies from car to car. I was happy to wait, but if you really want to use that new find and are pretty flush, there’s no harm in speeding up the process.
How do barn find gift cars work in Forza Horizon 5?
Once you find a barn and take the car to add to your collection that barn is available to you to place one of your own cars in. This car is then offered as a gift to someone in the Horizon 5 game world if they go to that barn after they’ve taken the original dilapidated car from it. If you’ve got unwanted cars this is a nice way to share some love in the game, and there are options to limit who can find it and you can even leave the finder a nice message. That’s all you need to know about the hidden barn finds in Forza Horizon 5.
